Saturday Spotlight:

Three weeks to go, folks!  Saturday, February 23 will be the most activity-filled day of the weekend.  The day's schedule includes:

  • Over 14 workshops taught for three levels:     New Dancer Track, Beginner/Novice and Intermediate/Advanced.
  • Jack N Jill Competitions:   Novice and Intermediate, both Two Step and WCS at Noon.  Grab an ala carte lunch sold in the lobby and come cheer these competitors on!
  • Sit-Down Dinner along with a Tenth Anniversary Retrospective (not included in the weekend pass)
  • Tenth Anniversary Show as well as Advanced Two Step and WCS Jack N Jill competitions.
  • Dancing with the Chicago Rebels in a dedicated Swing Ballroom.
  • And the late night pizza party.

If you plan to have dinner at Da Dance Camp on Saturday night, make sure you reserve a space now.  After dinner, the 20’s Style Theme Dance begins.  Period costumes are optional; however a few beads or a pair of suspenders would do it!  The evening will begin with an hour and a half of open dancing. The Tenth Anniversary Show begins around 9:00 pm and includes Two Step & WCS Jack N Jill competitions.  There will also be some fun dance exhibitions and other performances to top off the entertainment.

After the competitions and exhibitions, open dancing will resume until the dancers drop or the DJ tires out. There will be a short break around midnight to refuel with a pizza party.  There is also a dedicated Swing Ballroom sponsored by The Chicago Rebels.

Persons attending Da Dance Camp are encouraged to stay at the Quality Inn, 9ll South Route 83, Elmhurst IL 60126, which is adjacent to the Convention Center.  Call 630/279-0700 for reservations.  An added bonus, especially with the frigid temperatures as of late:  They have a heated indoor pool.

All the event details are available online, as well as the option to register online, or to download the form and mail it in.  While looking at the web site, be sure to check out the Photo Gallery under Da Dance Camp to see pictures of last year’s event.
