The kids peeking in the storefront at DDC 2007 are in for a treat.  This year they’re going to get the red carpet treatment at SNC’s celebration of DDC 2008, Ten Years of Opening Nights.

Why don’t you find out for yourself what the hoopla is all about.  Join the party!  Celebrate!

Sunday Spotlight:

Two weeks to go, folks!  Sunday, February 23 will be the “Whew!” day, the time to relax, laugh over brunch and recap the weekend’s events.

·        Dance till you drop on Saturday night. Then sleep in, preferably at the Quality Inn, 911 S. Rt. 83, Elmhurst (Wal Mart light), adjacent to the Waterford Convention Center (630 279-0700).  We promise that the beds are really close to the dance floor, the pool is always heated, and the continental breakfast is free every morning.

  • Get up a little early (9 am-ish) and help with taking down the decorations and the floor.  In addition to garnering the undying gratitude of Nancy (decorations maven) and Tobi (volunteer chick), you’ll earn SNC Points, good for lots of dance related “stuff.”
  • Enjoy the free continental breakfast ($7 if you are not a hotel guest) in a private, Dance Campers Only room.
  • Give it up to the videographer at breakfast; he’ll be recording impressions, reactions, and general hoopla for posterity.  (This will become part of the Dance Camp DVD, available in April, so watch yourself!)
  • At the Awards Ceremony immediately following breakfast, cheer on the winners and participants of the Just Dance contests—from the FirsTimers (you were once one, remember?) to the Advanced dancers.  For their efforts they’ll be winning money and prizes.  Remember, they danced…and you didn’t!
  • Volunteer for next year’s Dance Camp Committee.  Those are the people who made your weekend happen!

All the event details are available online, as well as the option to register online, or to download the form and mail it in.  While looking at the web site, be sure to check out the Photo Gallery under Da Dance Camp to see pictures of last year’s event.

Volunteers Welcome!

As Da Date for Da Dance Camp approaches, Volunteer Coordinator, Tobi Oberman, is calling all Da Gang members to Da Cause of Da Boss.  You can reach Tobi by phone 847-324-3123 or by email.

If you want plenty of time to play during the weekend but could also use some of those SNC points as well as food, does Tobi have a plan for you!

Help with transportation of Da Goods (equipment, decorations, etc) to and from Da Storage locker...or with laying and/or picking up the floor...or with setting up/taking down decorations.  You get your choice of activity, you get fed, you get points, and you get plenty of time to party!
