new:  Sheli Schroeder is a nationally recognized swing dance competitor.  West Coast Swing is her passion and specialty.  She is currently competing on the National Swing Dance Circuit in the Classic Swing division with her partner Mike Konkel.

In 1998 Sheli co-founded the Milwaukee Rebels Swing Dance Club, where she teaches weekly West Coast Swing lessons.  Sheli truly loves dancing, competing, and teaching.  However, her greatest fulfillment comes from watching the progress of her students.  Check out Sheli’s amazing movements on YouTube.

new:  Thank You

Many thanks to Don Macdonald and his assistants BJ and Marcia who gave SNC dancers the opportunity during March lessons to make their own Cha Cha look “hot.”

new:   May 16:  Friday.   A Gently Used Clothing Sale will be presented by Swing N Country at its second Friday dance in May.  Start your serious spring cleaning and pull out those dance clothes you haven’t worn in months.  If you think someone else would enjoy wearing what would otherwise be sitting in your closet, bring it to the Gently Used Clothing Sale.  More details can be found in this flyer.  Coordinators for this event are Judi Troemel and Susie Kaplan.

What’s your Personality…Shy or Outgoing?

“Active, outgoing personalities have an advantage in social dancing. Even if you are not naturally that way, try and cultivate a pro-active approach to your dancing. If you like a song and want to dance, if you like a partner and want to dance with him/her, don't hesitate to go and ask. Make friends in the dancing community. You would be surprised how much an occasional smile and salutation can do. There are virtually hundreds of individuals out there waiting to be friends with you. All it takes is a minimum level of effort from you.

Ultimately no-one and nothing can make you happy or unhappy. Only you can make you happy.  Dancing can help.’’
