Double Two During May

modified: In Hania Richmond’s class last week, the hand hold had significant importance while Beginners learned the Spin Whip.    Pinky-to-Pinky was the secret in getting this move down right.   The Intermediate lesson evolved with the Spin Whip taking a second turn on the triple. Hania coached follows to dance their part strongly explaining whomever is forward line of dance determines who is the assertive partner.   This is true in all dances where the move is leap frogging.  Learn about leap frogging and more this week, as Hania concludes her Double Two lessons this Wednesday.

 Your Modus Operandi Revealed”

Is Modus Operandi the latest hot move in the dance world? Is it something you’ll get arrested for if you reveal it in public? Neither. Instructor, Jill Popovich, promises to teach you how to move so all of your dances improve.  You will dance better, move better, look better, lead better, follow better, interpret the music better, and so much more. Come reveal your Modus Operandi at the June 20 dance.

new:   Use It or Lose It:  Dancing Makes You Smarter

According to Richard Powers, a member of Stanford University’s dance faculty, frequent dancing makes us smarter.  Why dancing?  The essence of intelligence is making decisions.  Couple-style dancing requires split-second, rapid-fire decision making for both the leader and the follower.  So get busy.  Get smarter.  Dance!
