Other Chicagoland Happenings:

new:  The following just in from Chicagoland event directors, Randy and Jennifer Jeffries:

Swing 'n Country ROCKS!!  Thank you all so very much for supporting the ChicagolandDance Festival yet again.  You are awesome.  You buy passes and stay in the hotel.  You provide pizza and prize money...and clappers!  You volunteer tirelessly and oh-so-cheerfully.  You invite folks to attend and make them feel welcome.  Thanks to you, we get to hear amazing compliments of how Chicagoland continues to be one of the friendliest and most fun events in the country.

In May we helped our friends Mark Bradburn and Melissa Culbertson with the new Circle City Dance Festival in Indianapolis.  We live only 60 miles from Indy, it's our state capital, we shop there, fly out of the airport, root for the Colts (sorry, Bears are our second team!!) and consider it home turf.  Yet it felt funny to welcome people to the dance event there...and we were so proud of the Chicago dancers who came to the event.

That's when Randy and I realized that Indy may be more familiar, but that Chicago is our dance home.  Chicagoland, 1995, was my second MC opportunity.  Remember the Oakbrook affiliate event?  We do!!  Randy and I competed for the first time in the Honky Tonk competition at Chicagoland in 1997.  (Carlos and Maren:  For a small fee, we won't share that videotape with anyone)! There was the Chicago Rebels New Year's Eve party in 1996...Da Dance Camp for the past ten years...and so many good times with Chicagoland dancers across the country at other events.  Even before we became the Chicagoland event directors, people thought we were from Chicago.

Thank you for adopting us into your amazing dance community.  You are so generous with your support of Chicagoland and we appreciate every bit of your energy, enthusiasm, time and talents.  It is truly humbling to receive such a gift.

We really couldn't do it without you!

Love from Jennifer, Randy...and one very tired Max”
