Chicagoland:  An Overview of Friday

Friday is when the fun begins. Let’s highlight all of the activities of opening day (Please note that the schedule is tentative and could change between now and the event):

·        1:00 – Workshops begin

·        3:30 – The warms ups for the pro-am intermediate/advanced, showcase, pro-pro, classic, and spotlight competitors

·        4:00 – Competitions for the Pro-Am Intermediate/Advanced, Showcase, Pro-Pro, Classic, and Spotlight contestants

·        8:00til your shoes wear out or you do …. In Ballroom two, open dancing playing a “California Mix” (West Coast Swing, Hustle, NC2, etc).

·        8:00 – Pro Am Swing and Hustle Competitions

·        9:00 – Hustle Jack & Jill Prelims and Finals.

·        10:00 – Hustle Jack & Jill finals (no preliminaries) begin for all divisions (Novice, Intermediate & Advanced)

·        11:00 – The Swing Jack & Jill preliminaries begin for all divisions (Novice, Intermediate & Advanced)

·        Midnight – Dancing until who knows when…

And with all of that, we can’t forget that at 10:00 pm, SNC will be hosting its free (yes, free!) Chicago-style pizza party. Food just in time to hit the dance floor for dancing until the early hours…

This just in from Jennifer:

The guest rooms are newly-refurbished and fantastic!  (I stayed in one to test it out!) You won't recognize the guest rooms!  The funky 1970's hair dryers are gone, the beds are incredibly comfortable, bathrooms completely overhauled.  A night in the Crowne Plaza O'Hare will feel like a vacation!”

This in from Julie Hein:

We need volunteers to help put up the Skyscraper backdrop and miscellaneous preparation.   Come about 5:30 pm, work with fun people and have some pizza and beer afterward.   Julie needs you to email her with your name and positive commitment so she doesn’t have to drink the beer all herself!
