modified:  Chicagoland:  An Overview

Thursday Night: Volunteers will be busy decorating, laying floors and putting up the skyline.  Thanks to all those who will be making everything ready and to those who have volunteered to help throughout the event.

Friday:  Workshops begin early in the afternoon (Master World Champion Gary McIntyre is one of the teachers!); Pro-Am competitions begin late in the afternoon. In the early evening there will be open dancing followed by Free Chicago Pizza. (Yes, that’s right! FREE Pizza!) supplied by Swing ‘n’ Country. In the late evening Jack N Jill preliminaries will take place followed by midnight swing party.

Saturday:  This is the big day for workshops!  Twenty-two will be held on this one day alone!  When your tootsies need a rest, sit down and watch the Pro-Am and Couples’ competitions. A must-see is the Masters and Superstars exhibitions at 8:00 pm. Topping off the evening are Final West Coast Jack & Jills and Two Step Jack & Jills. Interspersed are periods of Open Dancing.   Then late, late in the evening and into the morning both ballrooms will be open for dancing.  There will be music for everyone.  Note the new division called Starters.  If you’ve never competed ProAm or UCWDC this is the spot for you.

Sunday: Brace yourself for even more workshops! (There will be more than 48 throughout the weekend, including a series for absolute beginners). The competition portion of this day is devoted to couples.

Reminders for SNC Members:  SNC members can save $15 on their weekend pass using the promo code CHISWG. As you register online, the promo code field appears after you enter your name and address info.  The discounted rates will NOT show up on the general pricing page—you must enter the promo code before you'll see the reduced rates.

Volunteers are needed to help put up the Skyscraper backdrop and miscellaneous preparation as well as to take it down. Anyone who helps earns SNC volunteer points. E-mail Julie Hein if you can help.
