Hania Richmond Teaches Waltz on Wednesdays in JuneHania  

No matter what your dance goal, social or competitive,
Hania Richmond is the person to help you reach them.  She has brought five SNC members to be UCWDC World Champions and many social dancers to advanced status. 
Check out Hania and her Pro-Am student on YouTube  performing the Waltz at Worlds 2010.
Trivia:   Many people think the Tango was the first "forbidden dance" but it was really the Waltz.   When the dance (formerly the Minuet) moved to Austria and partners were allowed to touch,  church and government officials slandered the idea.

Maren Teaches Waltz on June 4, the First Friday Dance Maren Oslac 

Maren Oslac, owner of  Heart and Sole Dance,  has her own studio in Tinley Park.  There she teaches a wide range of students including  beginners, youths, performers, intermediates and advanced .
Everyone,  no matter what level of dance, can achieve a measurable amount of success when being coached by Maren.

Albert Tailleur Teaches Two Step at the June 18 Dance

Albert Tailleur hails from South Carolina and has previously taught at Swing 'n' Country's Dance Camp.   He is a national UCWDC competitor and instructor.
Happenings found a YouTube clip of Albert dancing Waltz.  Check out this very talented dancer.  Cameras are welcome at SNC dances.  You can record the Two Step lesson synopis if you'd like.

June 4 - June 6:  Circle City Classic, Marriott East, Indianapolis, Indiana.   A fully- sanctioned UCWDC event a short five hour drive from Chicago.
June 5, Saturday:   Palwaukee Squadron 1940's Style  Hangar Dance.  6:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Wolf Road Hanger 10.  All proceeds go to support the Palwaukee Squadron Air Patrol.   Live Band, Vintage Air Craft Display, food and drinks.  (Sounds like a fun place to wear your SNC garb).  Questions, call 847 431 6279

June 12, 26:  Saturdays:  The Windy City Jitterbug club hosts its dances on the first and third Saturdays of each month  at The American Legion Hall, 9757 Pacific Avenue, Franklin Park, 60131.
June 12, 26 : Saturdays:  Chicago Dance News hosts Double Dance (swing, country and ballroom dance on  June 26 and Swing only on June 12)  at Ballroom City, 207 S. Villa Ave., Villa Park, 60181.  Check out Brian Wong's web site for detail.     (map)   
June 11, 25:  Fridays:   X Dance hosts its dances on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at The Centre at North Park, 10040 Addison Ave., Franklin Park, 60131.   Check the  web site for additional information.(map) 
Sundays. SOS (Swing on Sunday) presented by May I Have This Dance.  There will be an advanced West Coast Swing class at 6:00 pm followed by open dancing that consists of West Coast Swing, Hustle and touch of  Night Club Two Step  and Country. (map) 
Mondays:  Maren Oslac hosts  two four- week series of West Coast Swing lessons a month plus a dance at Heart & Sole Dance Studio, 7038 183rd St., Tinley Park, 60477. WCS 101 begins at 7:00 pm, WCS 102 begins  at 7:45 pm and a dance immediately follows.  (map) 
Mondays: Jill Popovich Powers  teaches Pilates in Arlington Heights starting at 7:00 pm.  Pilates helps dancers of all levels learn to move their bodies more efficiently, resulting in smoother dancing, longer endurance, and more flexibility. You will feel better too!  Contact Jill to learn more or for directions to the class.
Wednesdays:   Hania Richmond  teaches Waltz  for Swing 'n' Country.
Thursdays:   Thursdays at Sundance.  A practice party coordinated by Richard Blumenthal and Ching Lin gives dancers an opportunity to share information about their  country, latin and swing techniques and moves.   6:00 pm - 10:00 pm.  300 Lakehurst Rd, Waukegan 60085.
